Adventure Itinerary

DAY ONE
After shuttling to the trailhead with your guide, a gentle hike leads to Lone Star Geyser. Eat lunch while awaiting the eruption! Camp in a meadow surrounded by chirping eagles in their nests. Perhaps a herd of bison will visit tonight!
5 miles | +450 ft

DAY TWO
Make camp before day hiking to Shoshone Lake and an isolated volcanic basin. Spewing geysers and erupting acid baths create quite a show. These volcanic features are close to the trail. We are careful not to fall into the boiling water!
7.5 miles | +450 ft, -250 ft

DAY THREE
Climb over the Continental Divide and emerge in a vast meadow. The entire trail is downhill from here! Camp deep in a forest canyon next to our own secret waterfall. Cool off in the rocky campside creek before dinner.
7 miles | +650 ft, -550 ft

DAY FOUR
Cross a steamy, super-heated creek on stepping stones. Relax in Mr. Bubbles, a sparkling blue hot spring, hidden deep in Yellowstone. Magma heated water charges through a vent. The ground rumbles underfoot.
3.5 miles | -800 ft

DAY FIVE
Ford Bechler river as it courses over dramatic cascades. Stand on cliff’s edge next to the breathtaking Iris Falls, and admire the double Colonnade Falls. At camp, wade out to a river island and relax in the warm evening glow.
6 miles | -750 ft

DAY SIX
Traverse the wild western grasslands of Bechler meadow. Cross a wobbly suspension bridge, and eat lunch on a soft riverbank. Fish jump, crickets chirp, and frogs hop around us. After a jaunt through a colorful forest, our journey is complete!
7 miles | +100 ft, -100 ft
